DIY PROJECT!!! CORK BOARD:JEWELRY ORGANIZER,PICTURE DISPLAY, AND TO DO LIST!

This is my little jewelry/photo display cork board that I made!
I dont have anything on my walls in my bedroom so I was really just wanting to make something crafty and cute to put up! Oh! and I really wanted to use my new zebra print glue gun from michaels crafts!

So here is what will you need to get this look:

(I got everything shown here at michaels)
  • zebra print duct tape
  • glue gun (I got zebra print because I am obsessed)
  • two different kinds of ribbon (I got the pink zebra print and cheetah)
  • two sparkly flowers, I think these were like .69 cents.
  • thumb tacks they had these pink, white, and black ones that i thought were really cool.
  • scissors
  • glue sticks (most glue guns don't come with glue.)
  • loose glitter
  • annnnnd....a cork board.

Ok so first, I decided which ribbon I wanted to use for the border and cut the pieces out for that.

Then, you take and glue all of those pieces of ribbon down for your border.
When your finished doing that, you need to take the other ribbon and decide where you want your jewelry line to start. As pictured above, I decided to start mine at a little less than half from the bottom.
Then, you continue to glue all the way down to the bottom of the board.
After you have all of that glued down and smoothed over, you start to lay your zebra print duct tape down on the upper half of the board. You can use this part for hanging up pictures or to do list.

Continue laying the duct tape down until you reach the top.
You can put small dots of glue down before you lay the tape down, just to make sure it doesnt fall or peel off.
Cut the stems off of the flowers and try to cut the back almost flat so that you can glue it down really well to the board.
Then glue them down to the board wherever you choose.
(you can see where I put mine)
After I glued both flowers to the board, I just added some finishing touches.
I took the hot glue and made little dots across the board where the zebra print and cheetah print meet and sprinkled gold glitter on them. (made them look like little buttons)
I also went ahead and placed my thumb tacks for my necklaces, I just zig zagged them so it didnt look so plain just straight across!

And thats it! You can really use any pattern or any print for this! just have fun!
* And remember, those hot glue guns are super super hot!!!!
I had to be reminded a couple of times :(
Good luck! If anyone does this, I would love to see how everyone elses turns out!

I can't believe tomorrow is the beginning of August!!!!

Wow! August already? I am so excited! It is about to start my most favorite time of the year!!! What is so exciting about August and this time of year!?!! Lets see how many things I can think of!!!

The Appalachian Fair!!!

My family and I have always went to the fair every since I can remember! It brings so many happy memories for me and I can't wait to create new happy memories with my very own little family!

Maybe Aiden will be able to ride a few rides this year! I know one things for sure, we will definetely be riding the carousel together!!!

Oh! And you can't forget all the yummy stuff like cotton candy (i really like the hello kitty ones in this picture and I bet Aiden would love the spongebob one) and.......

                                                         funnel cakes!!!!! mmmmm!
(these are not the healthiest choices but hey! the fair and their funnel cakes only come once a year!!!)

Along with all kinds of rides and yummy for your tummy food, they also have farm animals at our fair. Which is AWESOME because every since we moved into our new place we pass this field that has a bunch of horses in it everytime we leave the house or come home, and Aiden has developed a new obsession with them! Anytime we pass by them we have to stop and let him look at them, or else we hear him yelling "horsie! horsie!" all the way down the road. So, I think it will be alot of fun for him to get to see them up close and get to actually pet them at the fair!  :)

One of my personal favorite things about our fair is they always have great concerts every day of the week that the fair is in town! And this year one of my favorite bands just so happens  to be coming!!! Thompson Square! I absolutely love love love them and can't wait to hear them live! Got my calander marked and requested off work so IM READY!!!

And Last but not least for reasons I love this time of year....
It's the month before my birthday!!!! Which means the countdown shall begin!!! I will be 23 this year and for some odd reason Im kind of looking forward to my birthday! Theres nothing really special about your 23rd birthday, after you turn 21 you really dont have any more "exciting birthdays" I guess I can say I made it through another year of having an awesome little boy, wonderful family, and loving my career! I used to say people were silly when they would tell me after you graduate high school life just flies by, but now I see what they meant! Makes me want to invent a time machine! :(

Well good night to all! Hope you all dream of cotton candy and carousel rides! :)
Big hugs & sweet dreams......  Tiffany

WALLABIES!

Recently, there was a place for toddlers and children brought to our town called wallabies. Wallabies is a place that is filled wall to wall with nothing but inflatables. Now, I thought sure Aiden will like this place he might play for an hour and then be done with it. I was wrong. He loved it! And the good thing about this place is its cheap! Only six bucks and they can play for as long as they want! Let me just say everytime we go we are there for at least two hours.

The first couple of times we went he had his father and I to help him. And by help him I mean carry him all the way up those stairs in the picture. Let me tell you... its not easy carrying a two year old up an inflatable with little blocks for little feet as stairs! Great cardio though! So, we were so thrilled to see him do it on his own! Now we can take him and let him go all over and wear himself out while we sit there and enjoy! Its a great place if you only have one child for them to make friends as well.

They also put bracelets on the children and you with matching numbers on them. They WILL NOT let you leave with them if you do not have matching bracelets with matching numbers! I love that because you never know what could happen.
And this is one of the many many fun slides they have! So much fun for any age! If you dont have one in your town I suggest requesting one!

COOKOUTS, CARTWHEELS, AND FOOTBALL!!!!

April 7th

Its that time of year again! Today we had our first cookout of the year! It was absolutely wonderful, we had all of our family and friends over and had a great time. We had so much food it was insane. Every year I look forward to it warming up outside so we can come out of hibernation and be social. I guess you could say that winter isnt my favorite season! I love grilling out, drinking cold drinks, and kids runnin around. So, today was very nice to be able to cookout, eat, and enjoy company!
Actually, it was so nice outside that after everyone finished eating we stayed outside! I randomly decided to do cartwheels...ok my friend and I randomly decided to do cartwheels. Let me just say that I used to be a pretty awesome cheerleader...but that was 7 years and a baby ago. So I knew that my attempt of trying to do a cartwheel could have some consequences! Well, let me just say I've still got it girls! I did that cartwheel like it was yesterday but im pretty sure that im going to be feeling it tomorrow! I guess remembering how to do a cartwheel is kind of like remembering how to ride a bike, you never forget. You always remember how, you just hurt like hell afterwards!
I figured after a couple of cartwheels I better stop, didnt want to push my luck. Probably wouldnt be much fun being on cruches with a 2 year old. So....we went on to better things, football! Yes, I said football. I have to say I havent ever really played football, but I enjoyed it! Of course we didnt tackle each other, we just played tag football. Lots of fun, and a great workout which I needed after all that amazing food!

Bath Time!

bath time
This is how bath time looked tonight! Has anyone else had this experience? You know where you put them in the bath let them play for a while then start washing them and BAM! Yes thats right! The cup that you use to rinse suddenly becomes a game of splashing mommy! I put Aiden in the bath tonight while I straightened up his room then came in there to wash him up and before I even bent down to start I got a full cup of water straight in the face! Not only did it get all over me but all over the rest of the bathroom behind me...I was soooo mad I didnt know if I was going to laugh or cry. Oh! but Aiden thought it was hillarious! He finally pulled one over on mommy! Guess his April fools prank came a little late!

what changed my life

This is me of course! And my 2 yr old Aiden! I have to say I was always the girl who swore that she was never having children and would always be me myself and I! I never had patience and so I knew that if I ever had children I would go insane. Well the day I found out I was pregnant you can only imagine the horor!!! I bought 2 pregnancy test on the way home from hair school determined to prove to everyone around me that i was NOT pregnant! well….as you can tell I was very much pregnant! I immidiately called my sister! yes thats right not my boyfriend, not my mom! My sister. My younger sister at that. Like she would have all the right answers!
Well my sister arrived to me sitting on a toilet sorry (tmi) with 2 pregnancy test resting on the counter top! Did I mention I was sobbing?! I could only imagine the sight of this! My very calm sister…younger sister looked at me and said its ok…I then looked at her and said no it isnt, we are going to get another pregnancy test this cant possibly be right! So we did and as you guessed every 3 of the test where positive!
The next day I walked into the doctors office and begged them to see me! I just knew that they where going to tell me I was not pregnant and that my life as I knew it was not over! But no….my life as a mother was just beggining! The next 9 months as everyday went by I started to realize that my life was not over and that this was something I might love and enjoy! I started seeing everyone with their families and how happy they where and I knew then that this was something I could get used to! I started buying baby everything and when I found out I was having a little boy everything I bought was the bluest of blues!
well, 2 years later and everything around me is still blue! I love being a mother and I love everything that comes with it! The messes, the kisses, the tantrums…not so much, the little bitty clothes and socks, and of course everything that there is on the market that has to do with spongebob! And of course theres nothing in the world like those 2 little arms wrapping around you and giving you the best gift in the world…the love of your child!
So for those of you scared of having children, dont be! Its the best gift that God could give. The gift of life, love and joy! I could not imagine my life without Aiden in it now! Funny how I was saying the exact opposite two years ago. As im sitting here next to him peacefully sleeping I can’t help but wonder honestly what my life would be without him. Good night from a nice view of toys scattered all over and a peacefully sleeping baby! :)

So I dont know if Ive mentioned it yet but im a hairdresser. I  can honestly say I love my job! Not to sound mean but I usually look forward to going to work to get a break from home! If you have a 2 year old you know what I mean! The screaming, tantrums, diaper changes, and the oopsies!!!!
I went to work this morning very calm and relaxed and ready to start the work day. Everything was going well the salon was very busy and I was making money which is always a great thing! Well, just as I thought the day was going great a father and his 4 year old walk in and the father says his son needs a haircut. The little boy immediately starts kicking and screaming! Now im usally pretty positive about children and their tantrums about haircuts so I voluntered to do the haircut.
The father starts of by telling me that the little boy would sit on his lap while I cut his hair…I was fine with that. So I get the clippers out and the little boy starts screaming “no cut no cut!”  The father looks at me and says “he really is a good boy he just really hates getting his hair cut”so I continue to cut as the little boy spit, smacked and kicked me!
It took me 30 min and the boy almost throwing up on me to finish what should have been a 10 minute haircut! Needless to say my routine break from the reality of my own house of tantrums and a screaming toddler didnt really happen today! Heres hopeing for a more sunny relaxing quite Sunday!

Terrible Twos!

Let me just start by saying I love my son very very much. However, I honestly dont know if I am going to make it through this whole terrible two thing! Aiden has always been a wonderful baby boy but it seems like every since he turned two everything has been out of control! I cant turn my head for two seconds or theres ravioli or God knows what all over the place!
Does it ever end? Is there light at the end of the tunnel? And the bad thing is my fiance (Aidens father) always has to be the bad guy because I simply cant bring myself to discipline him. Its not that I dont want to teach Aiden right from wrong, its just that hes my baby and I hate to get after him because it breaks his heart and then breaks mine!
I cant help but wonder at what age do children start to learn right from wrong? Is it too early to say at the age of 2? I dont know but Im hoping that he starts to learn soon because Im barely hanging on to my sanity! Anyone who has any advice feel free to comment, I promise you it will be greatly appreciated! Heres to hopeing that there is no such thing as terreble threes!
